About the Role

Loadmasters are responsible for supervising safe and proper loading procedures for assigned flights, ensuring compliance with all regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise safe and proper loading procedures for assigned flights.
  • Follow and direct proper loading procedures, paperwork compliance, security compliance, and safety compliance.
  • Ensure aircraft cargo compartments are clean and free of debris.
  • Report missing, damaged, or unserviceable components of aircraft cargo loading and restraint systems.
  • Notify the Flight Crew immediately of any issues with aircraft systems, restraints, or components.
  • Ensure all cargo is properly packaged, labeled, restrained, weighed, and documented.
  • Coordinate and supervise all cargo-related functions, including inspection of ULDs, nets, and pallets.
  • Direct and supervise labor groups for cargo loading and unloading to ensure safety, efficiency, and legality.
  • Perform a complete check of the load prior to departure, ensuring all items are properly secured.
  • Correct any loading deficiencies or paperwork issues before providing the Flight Release/Weight and Balance Form to the captain.
  • Prepare, supervise, and maintain cargo weight and balance documents.
  • Act as a liaison between the company, customers, vendors, handlers, and government agencies.
  • Assist maintenance personnel with assembling/dismantling specialty equipment and ground support equipment.
  • Account for the planned load, considering aircraft restrictions, limitations, and load sequencing.
  • Ensure all restraint hardware is properly positioned according to the Company Weight and Balance Manual.
  • Maintain familiarity with customer manuals, the Company General Operations Manual (GOM), and the Company Weight & Balance Manual.
  • Verify Hazardous Material (HAZ-MAT) loaded on the aircraft and ensure all requirements are met.
  • Ensure all international paperwork and documents are on board prior to departure.
  • Inspect all cargo compartments following each upload and offload.
  • Assist crew members and flight mechanics in keeping the cabin clean and secure.
  • Perform Ground Security Coordinator functions and notify the Director of Safety and Security of any discrepancies.
  • Send and respond to emails concerning Cargo Operations, including daily Loadmaster’s Turnover Reports.
  • Maintain all required files and documents regarding flight activity.
  • Prepare, communicate, verify, and coordinate weight and balance load plans with assigned stations.
  • Remain qualified by completing all required recurrent training.
  • Take responsibility for assigned shifts and/or flight assignments.
  • Delegate functions associated with the position while retaining overall responsibility and verifying compliance.
  • Take reasonable care for the health, wellbeing, safety, and security of themselves and others.
  • Cooperate with managers/supervisors regarding legal requirements.
  • Not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse company-provided safety equipment.
  • Inform managers/supervisors of any serious or immediate danger to health, wellbeing, safety, or security.
  • Report any hazards, near misses, incidents, accidents, or dangerous occurrences.
  • Carry out work in accordance with provided information, training, and safety rules.
  • Fully understand AGI Health & Safety and Security policies.
  • Attend required training courses.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma, GED, or work experience equivalent.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States or Canada, as applicable.
  • Must complete ramp and SIDA training to obtain airport authority identification security.
  • If required, be able to secure a Customs Seal.
  • Must have a minimum of combined two years of ramp and/or warehouse experience.
  • Must have two years of experience in hazardous materials and documentation.

  • $25.00 - $25.50 hourly
