About the Role
CDK Global is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to design and develop software components, recommend enhancements, and define automation needs from a CI/CD perspective. The role involves analyzing applications, participating in the full development lifecycle, providing technical leadership, advocating for scalable software design, and collaborating with stakeholders to develop innovative solutions.
Responsibilities
- Engage in the design and development of both new and existing software components.
- Make recommendations to technology leadership to enhance software functionality and performance.
- Define and prioritize automation needs, including build processes, testing, and security, from a Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) perspective.
- Stay updated on industry trends and develop strategies for incorporating these trends into our software environment.
- Analyze software applications against technical and business specifications, ensuring compliance with established methodologies and standards.
- Contribute to the full development lifecycle by focusing on new features and functionalities, including service layers, integration, user interfaces, and data management.
- Provide technical leadership and design expertise across various platforms, influencing the long-term technical vision and strategy for CDK products.
- Advocate for software design that is scalable, resilient, maintainable, and stable.
- Lead efforts to collaborate with key stakeholders, offering subject matter expertise to develop innovative solutions for complex issues.
- Plan and design data models, propose product enhancements, and recommend the adoption of new technologies.
- Provide guidance on optimizing software features and functionalities for end-users.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or a related field and 5 years of experience as a Software Developer or related occupation.
- Employment experience using C#, ASP.NET, ASP.NET Core, MVC (4/5/6), Web API, RESTful services, WCF, and SOAP to architect, design, and maintain enterprise-grade applications and services.
- Designing and implementing service-oriented and microservices-based backend architectures, including API contracts, inter-service communication, authentication mechanisms, and scalable application layers that support high availability and complex enterprise workflows.
- Designing, optimizing, and maintaining relational and NoSQL data stores using PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL, MongoDB, and DynamoDB.
- Developing modular, responsive, and high-performance web applications using Angular, React, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS, Bootstrap, and JavaScript.
- Implementing MVC-based architectures, RESTful services, and integrating with PostgreSQL databases, deployed on Heroku with CI/CD pipelines for production readiness and scalability.
- Implementing secure and efficient data access and integration layers using Entity Framework, Dapper, LINQ, GraphQL, and OData.
- Deploying, configuring, and maintaining cloud-native applications using AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, ECS, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, and IAM.
- Building and modernizing automotive desking solutions that integrate pricing, financing, and incentives into fast, accurate, and scalable dealer workflows.
