About the Role

The Cook is expected to perform both large volume and small quantity cooking, follow production sheets and recipes accurately, and maintain a clean and safe work environment within company guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Complete prep work such as cutting and preparing food items.
- Prepare and heat soups, sauces, meats, starches, fish, seafood, and vegetables.
- Perform back-up functions for the front line, including preparing and assembling dishes.
- Prepare menu items to order during high volume periods.
- Notify Sous Chef of low supplies.
- Prepare all food items according to specified recipes.
- Assemble necessary supplies and equipment for daily cooking activities.
- Review production schedule to determine food requirements.
- Follow production sheets and other required records.
- Maintain clean work areas, utensils, and equipment.
- Regulate temperatures of ovens, broilers, and grills.
- Use a variety of pots, pans, and equipment to prepare food.
- Maintain proper food temperatures according to regulatory and/or ServSafe standards.
- Properly label, date, and rotate all products for safety and sanitation.
- Work in harmony with others in a strenuous environment.
- Maintain an understanding of information security policies and procedures.
- Provide exceptional customer service in a pleasant, friendly, and professional manner.
- Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors, managers, and staff.
- Meet attendance guidelines and adhere to company policies.
- Complete all required SGC Training programs within nine months of employment.
- Attend all necessary meetings.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Basic fundamentals of cooking skills required.
- Must possess excellent communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and speak effectively.
- Ability to deal effectively and interact well with customers and employees.
- Ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and move through all areas of the casino.
- Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced casino environment.
- Work involves moderate exposure to hot and cold temperatures and/or loud noises.
- Moderate physical activity is required, including handling objects up to fifty pounds.
- Work environment involves some exposure to physical risk, requiring basic safety precautions.
- Must complete all required SGC Training programs within nine (9) months from commencement of employment.
