About the Role
Join STV as an Assistant Project Manager on our PM/CM team in NYC and Long Island, managing capital programs and facility upgrades for healthcare, pharmaceutical, and bio-life science clients. You will represent the owner's interests, manage design professionals and contractors, and oversee all project phases from budgeting to close-out.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Project Manager in leading the project team, goal setting, and developing policies and procedures.
- Mentor team members and carry out assigned duties to achieve project/program completion.
- Lead cross-functional healthcare projects with demanding resource requirements, risk, or complexity.
- Monitor design and construction activities for compliance with contractual agreements and quality standards.
- Develop, monitor, and maintain project schedules, ensuring objectives are met.
- Evaluate, develop, and maintain project budgets, cash flow analyses, and cost estimates.
- Review purchase orders, change orders, and invoices.
- Forecast, identify, and address potential liabilities and risks.
- Maintain client, consultant, contractor, and vendor relationships, managing conflict resolution.
- Communicate complex ideas, anticipate concerns, and persuade others to facilitate project conclusion.
- Assist in evaluating and developing standards, protocols, policies, and procedures.
- Provide guidance and direction to less experienced team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management.
- Minimum of $10 million in demonstrated management experience for Pharmaceutical, Laboratory, Healthcare, or related construction types.
- Demonstrated experience, knowledge, and track record in project management techniques, concepts, principles, and standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Ability to creatively resolve issues as they arise.
- Ability to supervise people, including recruitment, training, performance management, and development.
- High proficiency with general Microsoft applications, including MS Project and Share Point.
- Demonstrated experience with project management software and applications.
- Ability to forecast project challenges and define solutions to maintain compliance with safety protocols, quality, schedule, and budget.
