About the Role

US Mobile is seeking a Chief Technology Officer to define the technology vision and lead engineering execution for its platform. This role involves unifying frontend and backend engineering organizations into a cohesive technical strategy and participating in executive-level decision-making. Responsibilities

  • Define and own the company's technology vision and long-term technical roadmap.
  • Assess platform technical health and make investment, refactoring, or rebuilding decisions.
  • Align frontend and backend organizations into a coherent architecture and technical strategy.
  • Drive the architecture, development, deployment, and scaling of the technology platform.
  • Stay hands-on with code reviews, technical design, and critical engineering problems.
  • Oversee cloud infrastructure, DevOps, security, observability, and production reliability.
  • Proactively identify and address technical risk.
  • Hire, mentor, and retain exceptional engineering talent.
  • Establish engineering standards, development processes, and a culture of ownership, speed, experimentation, and excellence.
  • Establish metrics and processes for engineering productivity, system reliability, and product quality.
  • Assess new technologies, frameworks, and AI capabilities for business value.
  • Partner with executive leadership to translate company objectives into technical strategy.
  • Represent the company's technical vision to customers, partners, and investors.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of professional software engineering experience, with significant experience in backend, frontend, systems, and/or platform engineering.
  • Previous experience leading engineering teams, technical projects, or a technology organization.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals and hands-on development experience.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, system architecture, databases, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and scalability.
  • Experience designing and operating production systems at scale.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS (preferred), GCP, or Azure.
  • Experience with modern infrastructure, CI/CD, containers, monitoring, and observability.
  • Strong product mindset and ability to connect technical decisions to business outcomes.
  • Proven ability to partner with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to align technology with company priorities.
  • Proven ability to operate in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, hiring, and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to work onsite in New York City.
