About the Role

Responsibilities
- Performs clinical laboratory procedures, examinations, and tests as defined by New York State public health law.
- Provides prompt and accurate laboratory test results and prepares products for transfusion.
- Maintains laboratory equipment, instruments, reagents, and supplies.
- Performs quality control (QC) processes and proficiency testing (PT).
- Follows all institution and department policies and procedures.
- Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.
- Directs, reviews, and/or verifies the work of other clinical laboratory personnel, students, and/or nursing staff as assigned.
- May perform supervisory functions in the absence of the regular supervisor.
- Performs other duties within their scope of practice as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year experience in standard laboratory methodologies.
- Qualified as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in accordance with New York State Department of Health Regulations.
- Licensure by NYSED as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist required, or licensure-eligible with a limited permit or limited license as a Clinical Laboratory Technician with full licensure received before expiration of limited/ provisional permit.
- Limited and/or Provisional Permit is granted to individuals that meet the educational requirements for licensure except for the licensing examination which must be taken within two years from the issuance of a limited permit.
