Responsibilities
- Completes assigned functions within the department.
- Operates and maintains dietary food equipment.
- Provides efficient, courteous, and accurate service through constant interactions with customers, physicians, nursing, and visitors.
- Performs a variety of routine duties in the sanitation area of the Food Service Department.
- Performs a variety of customer, food, and sanitation related activities, troubleshooting as necessary.
- Develops and maintains excellent communication skills with patients, customers, and coworkers.
- Responds to patient and customer issues and concerns in a timely manner.
- Assesses customer needs and delivers products to meet those needs.
- Records food temperatures during meal hours and takes action when temperatures are not to standards.
- Maintains personal hygiene and proper uniform according to department standards.
- Completes all daily washing and sanitizing.
- Maintains a safe and clean work area.
- Ensures 100% compliance on all record keeping requirements.
- Performs all assigned daily and monthly cleaning.
- Completes weekly cleaning list.
- Performs appropriate role with regard to equipment maintenance and supplies.
- Respects and uses equipment appropriately.
- Trains new employees in correct work-flows.
- Cleans and stocks immediate work area before leaving at end of shift.
- Controls food and paper waste and uses resources efficiently.
- Maintains and checks floor par stocks on assigned floors and on call rooms.
- Ensures excellent customer service.
- Presents a professional and courteous manner when dealing with patients, physicians, visitors, and staff.
- Greets each patient and customer with a smile and a helpful demeanor.
- Resolves customer complaints in a polite manner, aiming for resolution that meets patient or customer expectations.
- Treats coworkers with respect and allows for different work styles and viewpoints.
- Plays an active role in Relationship Based Care and consistently participates in department Practice Council.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred
- Previous Food Service experience, preferred
- Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 lbs. for force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects
- Occasional balancing, climbing, crouching, grasping, hearing, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, standing, stooping, visual acuity (color, depth, perception)
- Frequent typing/clerical/dexterity, seeing/monitor/computer use, talking.
- Constant walking
- Occasional bodily fluids/bloodborne exposure, burns, chemical hazards
- Occasional noise, wet and/or humid, mists, odors working conditions
- The job may require travel from time-to-time, but not on a regular basis
