About the Role

Responsibilities

• Supervise treatment and ensure clinical excellence as a clinic captain.
• Uphold and practice the Juno Standard of Care with compassion and collaboration.
• Mentor associate DVMs in clinical excellence, collaboration, and partnership.
• Partner with the Practice Manager to support clinic success through medicine, member experience, and operations.
• Manage medical safety reports and medical quality.
• Shadow appointments and review medical records for mentorship.
• Conduct regular 1:1s with DVMs for coaching on medicine, surgery, dentistry, member experience, and team communication.
• Support medical operational efficiency, member experience, and team development with the Practice Manager.
• Participate in regular meetings with DVMs, PM, leads, NMD, and other LDVMs.
• Conduct annual DVM reviews and development planning.
• Utilize DVM status to the highest level in medicine, surgery, dentistry, and leadership.
• Manage patient care including appointments, procedures, lab work interpretation, and follow-ups.
• Ensure timely completion of charting and tasks.
• Forge connections with members through positive client experiences, conflict resolution, and efficiency.
• Actively participate in team meetings to improve medical quality.
• Coach and support inexperienced doctors and support team members.
• Develop positive relationships with the team.
• Communicate clearly with the support team and leadership.
• Align with and promote Juno initiatives.
• Understand basic business needs, metrics, and benchmarks.
• Expand service offerings through continuing education and training.
• Be available for flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in clinic, with a love for wellness, medicine, surgery, and dentistry.
• Competence in diagnosing and treating various diseases.
• Ability to triage and stabilize urgent/emergent cases.
• Competence in feline and canine spay/neuter, including mature and large breeds, cryptorchid neuter, umbilical hernia repair, mass removals, cystotomy, laceration repair, eyelid surgery, enucleation, and gastropexy.
• Competence in dental charting, reading XRs, gingival flaps, burring and sectioning, extractions, and closing extraction sites.
• Strong interest in leadership; previous leadership experience is a plus.
• Ability to see and understand the perspective of all stakeholders: pets, members, team, and organization.
• Ability to partner with PM and Juno to develop and execute initiatives.
• Demonstrates excellent time management skills.
• Ability to self-start and motivate support staff during slower periods.
• Displays problem-solving capabilities.
• Possesses self-knowledge of strengths and weaknesses.
• Ability to hear and act on feedback.
• Motivated to grow personally and professionally.

• Willingness to help out with non-doctor tasks when needed.
