About the Role
Stantec is seeking an entry-level Environmental Inspector to provide technical support on a variety of projects. This role is part of the Environmental Services team, which offers expertise in permitting and approval requirements for land-disturbing projects, leveraging established relationships with regulatory agencies in New York State.
Responsibilities
- Perform Daily Project Inspections and SWPPP Inspections.
- Communicate and collaborate with other Environmental and Regulatory Specialists to ensure consistency in project execution.
- Assist in the creation of technical documents in support of regulatory submissions, including permit applications, SWPPP and compliance summaries.
- Provide technical and regulatory support for development projects in both the pre-project permitting stage and post-approval stage.
- Understand project specific permit commitments and inform contractor of obligations as needed.
- Maintain consistent presence on project sites during construction and restoration to document work and address compliance issues.
- Support implementation of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Policies, Procedures, Standards and Guidelines.
- Coordinate with HSE professionals during all phases of project planning and implementation.
- Participate in team and independent based work.

- Final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location
- Certain roles are bonus eligible
- Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week
