About the Role

We are seeking an ambitious Marketing Intern (m/f/d) to support our growth in one of Readly's core markets: Germany. Working closely with the German marketing team, you will gain hands-on experience across the full marketing mix, from campaign execution and content localization to data tracking and market analysis. This role offers direct responsibility and is the ideal entry into the dynamic world of digital marketing. Become part of our global marketing team and contribute to all phases of our growth strategy, from planning local marketing activities to working across various channels like podcasts, influencers, advertorials, and more. Please note: This position is exclusively for enrolled students who are required to complete a mandatory internship of at least 4 months as part of their study regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Local marketing channel management
  • Support daily planning, setup, and execution of local marketing campaigns across channels like podcasts, influencers, advertorials, and more in the German market.
  • Assist with daily coordination with external agencies and internal stakeholders, including creating creative briefs for influencers and podcasts, organizing campaign assets, and supporting smooth campaign implementation.
  • Content creation & localization
  • Collaborate with the local marketing team to adapt and localize marketing initiatives for the German market.
  • Write and localize engaging copy for newsletters, push notifications, and landing pages tailored to the German audience.
  • Support the social media agency by creating organic content for Readly's local social media channels.
  • Analyze internal app usage data to identify trending titles, high-performing magazine categories, and popular articles within the DACH catalog to select the most effective content for local marketing activities.
  • Data tracking & reporting
  • Support the analysis and compilation of channel-level performance metrics (e.g., trial sign-ups, landing page traffic) for all channels.
  • Assist in creating and formatting reporting documents, campaign summaries, and presentations to visualize channel performance and communicate key insights to stakeholders.
  • Market overview & roadmap support
  • Support the creation and ongoing maintenance of a central marketing roadmap that consolidates all local marketing activities and key market growth metrics in a clear dashboard.
  • Market research & trend scouting
  • Monitor competitor activities, pricing adjustments, and advertising materials in the digital publishing sector within the DACH region.
  • Research and identify new growth opportunities in the DACH market, such as podcast sponsorships, emerging influencers, relevant affiliate partners, and other local marketing trends.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field with a passion for digital growth and media.
  • Hands-on mentality and proactivity: pragmatic mindset, taking ownership of tasks, and eagerness to support campaign execution and daily operations in a dynamic environment.
  • Analytical thinking: comfortable working with numbers, proficient with tools like Excel/Google Sheets, and eager to learn how data drives performance and channel optimization.
  • Creativity and attention to detail: ability to write good German ad copy, an eye for visual details, and a creative talent for tailoring content to local audiences.
  • Strong communication skills: native-level German and very good written and spoken English for seamless collaboration with external partners and international teams.
  • Curiosity and trend awareness: interest in current marketing trends and media consumption habits, bringing fresh perspectives and enjoying contributing own ideas.
  • Must be an enrolled student required to complete a mandatory internship of at least 4 months as part of study regulations.
