About the Role
Lead and manage the regional Risk Management function and staff to deliver high-quality risk assessment, reduction, and consulting services to policyholders and prospective customers, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Manage loss control workload and resources, ensuring timely and professional completion of work according to standards.
- Recruit, staff, and train field Risk Management staff within the assigned region.
- Coach and train staff on conducting thorough underwriting risk assessment surveys and advance their property and liability skills.
- Provide technical consultation to other departments, policyholders, and producers.
- Identify and facilitate the delivery of targeted loss reduction work to accounts.
- Oversee and direct the delivery of risk management services to large accounts by collaborating with underwriting, claims, and regional leadership.
- Evaluate field performance based on work quality and quantity.
- Lead the delivery of high-quality services to internal and external stakeholders, including timely responses to inquiries and effective communication of RM products and services.
- Collaborate and maintain good relationships with regional underwriting, claims, and marketing departments.
- Administer and control salary, travel, equipment, and expense budgets for regions.
- Advance understanding of Risk Management services and value-add among direct reports, agency partners, clients, and internal peers through presentations and workshops.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in safety, health and environmental or engineering strongly preferred or equivalent experience.
- 7-10 years in the risk control field.
- At least 5 years of direct management or supervisory experience.
- Certified Safety Professional (C.S.P.) and/or Associate in Loss Control Management or Associate in Risk Management designation preferred.
