About the Role
RTX, the world's largest aerospace and defense company, is seeking an EH&S Manager to lead and manage site Environmental Health & Safety initiatives. This role ensures compliance with all applicable regulations and RTX/PW requirements, contributing to the company's mission of solving complex global challenges.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, review, and continuous improvement of site EH&S programs, procedures, and initiatives.
- Conduct and coordinate EH&S audits, inspections, and compliance assessments.
- Lead and support risk assessments for various hazards and partner with leadership on mitigation strategies.
- Drive a Zero Incident Safety Culture by partnering with employees to identify hazards and implement improvements.
- Lead and support incident investigations to identify root causes and ensure corrective actions.
- Lead the site EH&S Council and subcommittees, supporting performance tracking and injury reduction strategies.
- Develop, coordinate, deliver, and document EH&S training.
- Maintain EH&S metrics, records, reports, and regulatory submissions.
- Partner with internal teams and site leadership to develop and implement strategies that improve EH&S performance.
- Recommend and implement improved EH&S practices.
- Promote a proactive EH&S culture by identifying and communicating unsafe conditions and concerns.
- Provide oversight of site security and support related site initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable EH&S policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and RTX/PW standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of relevant EH&S experience in a manufacturing environment, or an advanced degree in a related field and 7+ years of related experience.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations, concepts, and compliance requirements.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, factory equipment, safety, and EH&S management systems.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while effectively leading and participating on multiple cross-functional teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience developing and presenting EH&S training.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to occasionally work additional hours, off-shifts, and weekends as needed.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
