About the Role

This position provides a unique insight into new projects, contracts, and financial results within the accounting group. The Senior Financial Analyst, Supply Chain Accounting will establish relationships with key clients to ensure business initiatives are identified and accounted for appropriately. The incumbent will analyze data, investigate anomalies, and ensure accurate reporting and adherence to accounting standards and policies. Technical expertise, analytical skills, and the ability to communicate, collaborate, and prioritize are critical for success.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the initial point of contact for new supply chain business initiatives.
  • Ensure appropriate accounting policy decisions are made.
  • Update models and reporting processes, collaborating with other accounting groups for proper execution.
  • Monitor and update key financial models across all entities.
  • Develop expertise in the Dealer contract, seek direction, and provide guidance to other accounting teams.
  • Make capital vs OPEX decisions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all monthly and quarterly deliverables.
  • Report functional results, analyze significant variances, and track project progress.
  • Research, analyze, and lead discussions on key business and accounting issues for evolving business initiatives.
  • Identify and execute improvements and efficiencies to complex models and processes, maintaining documentation.
  • Ensure all key controls are monitored and executed.
  • Manage communications and relationships with business partners, accounting, FP&A, tax, and auditors.
  • Participate or lead ad hoc projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • CPA designation or equivalent
  • University Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting, or equivalent
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a medium/large company accounting department or accounting firm.
  • Ability to provide accounting guidance on capitalization of assets to determine appropriate treatment of financial transactions in accordance with IFRS.
  • IFRS expertise and experience with researching and developing accounting position documents.
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and strategic thinking skills; able to see the “big picture” in a complex business environment.
  • Natural curiosity to understand the reason behind transactions and explore improvement opportunities using Copilot.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
  • Ability to thrive in an environment responsive to changing business requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Advanced PC skills including Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with internal and external audit processes.
  • Working knowledge of PeopleSoft accounting system and Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) is an asset.
  • Broad knowledge of the chart of accounts and internal controls is an asset.
  • Experience in delivering timely and accurate financial reporting and analysis.

  • Hiring range: $64,000.00 - $106,000.00 CAD Annual
  • Target salary range: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 CAD Annual
