About the Role

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking an Engineer, Health & Safety to improve and control current processes or products manufactured at SAS facilities. This role involves prioritizing tasks, identifying risks, and strengthening the safety culture within an advanced semiconductor facility.

Responsibilities

  • Perform functions associated with improving and controlling current processes or products manufactured at SAS facilities.
  • Prioritize multiple tasks and assist with identifying risks that support safety programs for an advanced semiconductor facility.
  • Work as part of a diverse safety team to help strengthen our safety culture and improve hazard elimination.
  • Anticipate, identify, and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices during task performance at a semiconductor facility.
  • Develop hazard control designs, methods, procedures, and programs; and advise and educate others.
  • Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of hazard control elements.
  • Evaluate task performance to ensure compliance with site and regulatory requirements.
  • Document and track results to support safety program elements.
  • Conduct incident investigations, site inspections, identify root cause, determine corrective actions, and support implementation.
  • Conduct employee training for education on site safety requirements.
  • Conduct monthly meetings with safety subcommittee.
  • Review and audit pre-task plans, site risk analyses and standard operating procedures.
  • Assist with the daily management of the tiered auditing program including closure of facility's preventative and corrective action plan.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Completion of an undergraduate-level course, research project, or internship involving Python for automation.
  • Completion of an undergraduate-level course, research project, or internship involving SolidWorks.
  • Completion of an undergraduate-level course, research project, or internship involving Autodesk Inventor.
  • Completion of an undergraduate-level course, research project, or internship involving LabVIEW (graphing tool for controls system design).
  • Completion of an undergraduate-level course, research project, or internship involving MATLAB.
  • Completion of an undergraduate-level course, research project, or internship involving CFD Modeling of fluid flows and thermal systems using Ansys.
  • Completion of an undergraduate-level course, research project, or internship involving Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using Ansys for structural analysis of systems.
  • Completion of an undergraduate-level course, research project, or internship involving Static and dynamic system modeling.
