About the Role

This is a full-time Saute Line Cook position. Candidates must have a flexible schedule and be willing to work weekdays, weekends, holidays, and special events as business needs require. Shifts may vary based on operational needs and may range from approximately 7 to 8 hours.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and plate menu items following established recipes, specifications, and presentation standards.
  • Maintain proper timing and communication with the rest of the kitchen to ensure smooth service.
  • Execute multiple orders simultaneously while maintaining quality, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Complete daily prep work and keep the sauté station stocked and service-ready.
  • Assist with prep and production throughout the kitchen as needed.
  • Monitor food quality and freshness.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Participate in meetings and training.
  • Collaborate with kitchen leadership and fellow team members.
  • Support the culinary operation by completing additional duties assigned by the culinary management team.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of fundamental cooking techniques, including sautéing, roasting, braising, grilling, and sauce preparation.
  • Ability to read and execute recipes accurately and consistently.
  • Ability to work multiple stations and support the kitchen team.
  • Professional appearance and understanding of representing Austin Country Club to members.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with fellow team members during high-volume service.
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work closely with kitchen leadership and team members to achieve service and operational goals.
  • Attention to detail and consistency.
  • Strong work ethic and a desire to continuously improve culinary skills and knowledge.
  • Ability to remain calm, organized, and efficient during busy periods and high-volume service.
  • Adaptability and willingness to assist throughout the culinary operation as business needs change.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a kitchen for extended periods.
  • 2+ years of professional culinary experience.
  • Experience working a sauté station in a high-volume restaurant, hotel, country club, or similar operation.
