About the Role

As an intern in Lean Management / Operational Excellence, you will connect the practical application of Lean Management in our Berlin laboratories with the support of our central Operational Excellence network. You will analyze real processes, develop concrete improvements together with the local teams, and support their implementation. You will also support group-wide Lean activities, such as training, workshops, communication measures, and campaigns. You will have the opportunity to work on your own detailed study or Lean initiative from analysis to implementation and presentation of results.

Responsibilities

Analyze operational processes in the Berlin laboratories using methods like value stream mapping, spaghetti diagrams, or multi-moment studies.
Independently work on a detailed study or Lean initiative, from problem definition to developing and implementing measures and presenting results.
Collect and analyze relevant key figures and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented improvement measures.
Develop practical solutions with local teams in areas such as 5S, FIFO, visual management, or process standardization.
Support the preparation, organization, and documentation of Lean workshops, training sessions, and other events.
Create presentations, posters, templates, and other communication materials for the group-wide Operational Excellence network.
Undertake administrative and organizational tasks and support the preparation of group-wide Lean activities and campaigns.
Present conducted analyses, developed measures, and achieved results to involved teams and relevant decision-makers.
Support projects at other locations within the DACH region as needed.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Business Informatics, Supply Chain Management, or a comparable field.
Interest in a mandatory or voluntary internship of at least three months.
Strong interest in Lean Management, Operational Excellence, continuous improvement, and the analysis of operational processes.
Analytical, structured, and independent working style with a passion for developing and implementing improvements collaboratively.
Excellent communication skills and enjoyment of collaborating with diverse target groups in a cross-location environment.
Very good written and spoken German and English skills.
Willingness to work regularly on-site in the Berlin laboratories and to travel occasionally within the DACH region.
Initial practical experience in Lean Management, CI, process optimization, or key figure analysis is advantageous but not required.
