About the Role
As a Salesforce Engineer, you will play an important role in supporting, enhancing, and developing PPL’s highly customized Salesforce platform. This role combines technical expertise with a strong customer focus to optimize Salesforce usage and deliver impactful solutions.
Responsibilities
- Produce clear, practical documentation for system support, maintenance, and enhancement.
- Act as a key point of contact for new solution requirements between business and Technology.
- Support the development, deployment, and ongoing improvement of systems and applications.
- Analyze, document, review, and follow structured processes including configuration management, version control, coding, testing, and documentation standards.
- Research and recommend new tools, techniques, and approaches to improve solution delivery, including AI.
- Represent business user needs by delivering effective solutions that meet specifications, standards, and business objectives.
- Act as a Salesforce subject matter expert, championing the platform's value and advising on business support.
- Utilize Salesforce capabilities, prioritizing declarative and configuration-led solutions over customization.
Requirements
- At least five years of hands-on Salesforce development experience.
- Expertise in scalable solutions using Apex, Lightning Components (LWC and Aura), SOQL, and Salesforce APIs.
- Strong knowledge of Salesforce architecture and development best practices, including Apex, asynchronous processing, governor limits, bulkification, transaction management, data modelling, large data volumes, and Flow.
- Strong understanding of Salesforce integration patterns, including REST/SOAP APIs, Named Credentials, Platform Events, asynchronous processing, and event-driven integrations.
- Experience across a mature software development lifecycle, including Git, branching, pull requests, code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, deployment planning, and multi-environment Salesforce releases.
- Proficiency with Salesforce CLI and Salesforce DX project structures.
- Ability to translate business and technical requirements into well-designed Salesforce solutions, identifying risks, dependencies, and suitable technical approaches.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to varied audiences and work effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
- A flexible, self-motivated, and resilient approach, with the ability to work under pressure, manage priorities, and take ownership of problem-solving.
