About the Role
TripleTen is seeking Industry Experts to set the technical bar for advanced engineering programs aimed at working mid/senior engineers. This role focuses on providing expert judgment and critique on system designs and defenses, similar to a Staff or Principal Engineer's evaluation, rather than direct teaching or content creation.
Responsibilities
- Sit on final project defenses, reviewing deployed systems, distributed-systems capstones, agentic architectures, or client-facing delivery packages against a rubric.
- Run defenses and provide structured, senior-level critique.
- Chair mock review boards and executive-panel presentations, including architecture reviews, model and system reviews, and go/no-go presentations.
- Host one or two live sessions per month on system design and decision-making, covering topics like system splitting, failure modes, and trade-offs.
- Set the technical standard for instructors and serve as their escalation point for complex design decisions.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional engineering experience at a senior/staff/principal level or equivalent (e.g., Staff/Principal Engineer, Senior/Staff ML Engineer, Solutions Architect, Forward Deployed Engineer, technical lead).
- Shipped production systems at scale in an employee engineering role.
- Ability to explain the rationale behind technical decisions and critique architectures live without preparation.
- A public technical footprint (e.g., GitHub, conference talks, publications, technical blog, open-source contributions, documented mentorship).
- Strong English proficiency (C1+).
- Located in the Americas time zones (US/Canada/LatAm) preferred, with flexibility for sessions in US afternoon and evening hours.
- Comfortable using AI tools in daily technical work.
