About the Role

This role involves providing high-quality finance support within the BELS Finance Team, focusing on the High Needs area of the Dedicated Schools Grant. You will undertake various finance activities and contribute to budget preparation and monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Raise purchase orders.
  • Make invoice payments to suppliers via Oracle receipting and payment uploads.
  • Ensure suppliers have the relevant contracts and adhere to contract procedure rules.
  • Provide financial management information to support budget preparation and monitoring.
  • Assist with payments of top-up funding to schools.
  • Assist with the recording and control of payments to Independent, Non-Maintained and OOB schools and SENIF payments.
  • Assist the Budget and Finance Manager with the post 16 process, ensuring payments to colleges are correct and timely.

Requirements

  • Experience of working in a finance team.
  • Experience using financial IT systems such as Oracle.
  • An enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) with barred list check is required for all successful applicants.
  • The successful applicant will be required to declare if the post comes under the requirements of the Childcare (Disqualification) 2009 Regulations.

Location

  • Predominantly out of the office, with some office working required.

Work Type

  • Fixed term contract of 12 months
