About the Role

Come intern with us in Summer 2027 while working and training with the industry's finest professionals! As an Estimating Intern, you will be given the opportunity to apply your academic training and skills in a real-world setting. In addition, you will assist the estimating team by assisting in preparing the estimate for assigned construction discipline.

Responsibilities

• Aids in reviewing proposal specifications, drawings, and attending pre-bid meetings to help determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
• Assists in reviewing historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, and productivity analysis reports into unit and person-hour figures.
• Supports the estimating team by helping to prepare discipline estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work.
• Assists in calculating material quantity requirements from engineering drawing dimensions.
• Consults with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
• Assists with design review options and recommends the best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials.
• Partners with the estimating team to prepare and conduct project hand-off meetings between the pursuit team and project management team.
• Researches and recommends vendors and subcontractors for designated scopes of work to achieve pursuit and cost goals.
• Maintains knowledge of the Company’s values and strategic plan.
• Supports published corporate policies.
• Performs additional assignments per management’s direction.

Requirements

• Must be currently enrolled in an Engineering, Construction Management, or a similar program at an accredited technical college or university.
