About the Role
As a Host/Hostess, you will be responsible for providing a warm and friendly immediate greeting to our guests at the door. You will seat the guests and present clean menus in a friendly, professional, and quick manner. Being passionate about beer, especially ours, is a plus!
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates genuine hospitality and sets the stage for an exceptional dining experience by making every single guest feel welcome at the door
- Engages in friendly conversation as guests are being seated in a timely fashion
- Answers immediate questions about the menu, beverages, etc. and alerts the server(s) of any special needs
- Introduces guests to their server
- Accommodate special seating needs, such as extra chairs or booster/high chairs for children
- Manages restaurant waiting list during high volume to accurately set guest expectation
- Always sincerely thanks guests as they leave and invites them to return
- Performs any cleaning tasks as required to assist the servers in maintaining a clean and safe dining room
- Ensures 100% accuracy of the order and special requests/needs of the guest
- Assists kitchen staff in assembling "to-go" orders, present the order to the guests, and take/process payment
- Performs additional assignments or miscellaneous administrative duties as assigned by General Manager or Assistant Manager
- Take names on a waiting list and give quotes when tables are not immediately available
- Run the floor plan board
- Observe and keep track of the status of tables
- Answer the phone and questions concerning the menu and the restaurant
- Fill to-go orders
- Help to maintain and organize the host area, retail store, foyer, front entrance, and restrooms throughout your shift
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior customer service experience
- Ability to operate and use computers and cash register
- Ability to lift and manage up to 20 lbs (during various times throughout shift)
Skills
- Excellent communication skills (verbally interacts with management, servers, team members, and guests)
- Must be able to read, write and determine wait time based on company's procedure
- Must have excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask
- Must have knowledge of workplace safety procedure
- Reliability/Attendance: Impeccable
Education Level
- High school diploma or equivalent
Salary/Compensations
- $16.00/hour
