About the Role

The Corporate Debt team is seeking an Associate Director, Corporate Debt to expand investor awareness of Private Debt offerings, support capital raising efforts, and improve communication between Sales and Distribution teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support fundraising efforts for a flagship fund with a capital target of approximately $1 billion, with final closing in approximately one year.
  • Support capital raising efforts by researching and compiling targeted LP and consultant lists, and crafting product messaging for enterprise sales teams.
  • Stay informed of industry trends and events, evaluating and determining which professional conferences and summits to attend.
  • Manage and coordinate the Private Debt team’s project management functions, including proposal and diligence activities, ensuring objectives are met within deadlines.
  • Provide project management and sales support for a second Private Debt Fund for its second close.
  • Summarize complex investments and structures succinctly and understand key value drivers.
  • Become increasingly involved with direct sales over time with continued success.
  • Perform in-depth portfolio analytics and benchmarking and assist in the preparation of quarterly reports.
  • Support the Corporate PD team’s existing client relationships and plan biannual client meetings, providing consistent updates on fund performance and investment activity.
  • Provide seamless client servicing throughout the onboarding and subscription agreement process, including client communications, quarterly meetings, LPAC meetings, and preparation for AGM and ESG surveys.
  • Respond to client inquiries, answering sophisticated questions by communicating product details, leveraging knowledge of underlying assets, and building/maintaining internal databases.
  • Be accountable for the completion of qualitative and quantitative data for Request For Proposals (RFP).
  • Oversee and support enterprise-level distribution teams, monitoring fundraising progression and the available pipeline of capital.
  • Assist with planning and organization of due diligence meetings.
  • Collaborate with internal cohorts on overarching strategy and, when required, the sourcing and identification of prospective investors.
  • Coordinate with investment consultants on PD product offerings.
  • Constantly develop and create new marketing materials and update existing resources such as brochures, investor pitchbooks, factsheets, and case studies.
  • Organize conferences and prepare materials for panels.
  • Manage and maintain accuracy of the data room.
  • Draft white papers to promote the firm’s products and educate investors and consultants.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, business or equivalent; CFA and / or MBA greatly preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of work experience with an alternatives investment manager (preferably in fixed income/credit), equity/credit research, a 3rd-party investment advisory/consultant or an LP.
  • Capital markets knowledge; a passion for PD alternatives, with a familiarity of the underlying asset base.
  • Experience with best practice strategies for marketing, communications and material production; delivering of a uniform and competitive message to the firm’s investor base.
  • Agility with Excel and PowerPoint, leveraging exceptional research capabilities and a creative mindset.
  • Self-motivated; an entrepreneurial spirit driven to complete tasks in an accurate and timely manner.
  • A low-ego and collaborative team player; comfortable supporting team efforts from behind the scenes.
  • Intuitive and resourceful, with excellent organizational skills and the ability to work autonomously.
  • High attention to detail, and ability to work across functional groups and build consensus.
  • Superior interpersonal skills; collaborative and proactive to participate in a knowledge-sharing culture.
  • Poised and polished communication skills; bilingual EN/FR preferred but not required.
  • Ability to travel occasionally, as required.
