About the Role
Evaluate moderate to complex and higher risk consumer loan applications utilizing in-depth experience. Extend credit in a timely manner, overseeing, assisting, and training staff to ensure a quality portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate moderate to complex and higher risk consumer loan applications utilizing in-depth experience.
- Extend credit in a timely manner overseeing, assisting and training staff, ensuring a quality portfolio.
- Decision all newly originated vendor and business partner requests within established guidelines.
- Process initial loan decisions up to and including $500,000 without supervision.
- Recommend higher risk credit decisions, follow matrix and refer exception to senior management.
- Countersign loan within authority, work with credit staff and support areas to correct errors or discrepancies.
- Define alternative lending scenarios while providing daily guidance and training to less experienced staff.
- Communicate loan decisions to dealers, brokers and customers on a daily basis.
- Resolve complex issues regarding financial statements, credit reports, loan decisions requirements and policy.
- Maintain professional etiquette and adhere to Privacy Act Guidelines.
- Understand and apply regulatory compliance issues in relation to Reg. B, HMDA, Adverse Action, Fair Lending and Fraud Procedures.
- Actively monitor assigned individual and regional work queues.
- Communicate with management to resolve lending conflicts and provide input regarding staff's job performance.
- May perform additional supervisory/management duties in the absence of the Consumer Credit Loan Rep IV.
- Participate in future planning, solutions, acquisitions, and off site activities.
- Use credit knowledge and experience to enhance and communicate credit procedures to other less experienced loan officers.
- Provide advice, guidance, work direction and support.
Requirements
- Consumer lending and underwriting experience required, including evaluating moderate to complex and higher-risk loan applications.
- Proven ability to independently assess creditworthiness, analyze financial information, and make sound lending decisions within established authority limits.
- Experience reviewing indirect lending applications received through dealers, brokers, vendors, and business partners.
- Exercising lending authority to $150,000.
