About the Role

The Gas Turbine Configuration Management (CM) organization is responsible for transforming product requirements and engineering design intent into actionable product definition using Product Lifecycle Management (GTCC) and Enterprise Resource Management (ERP) systems. The Order to Remittance (OTR) CM organization focuses on creating and maintaining project structures and Bill of Materials (BOM) for New Unit Requisitions and supporting Conversion, Modification, and Uprate (CMU) projects. The Engineer – OTR Config Mgmt, Project Structuring ST/GEN role is responsible for generating and managing project structures and BOMs for Steam Turbine and Generator products.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain Engineering BOM (EBOM) and Unit BOMs, and convert/push Manufacturing BOM (MBOM) to various ERP systems throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support the Inquiry to Order (ITO) team in the transition of project scope definition in the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) GTCC tool after the Order Release Meeting (ORM).
  • Collaborate with Project Engineering on the timely handoff of requisition scope definition to the OTR CM team within the PLM tool.
  • Verify accurate generation of logical features and Variant Configuration Central (VCC) logic within the PLM tool, resolving discrepancies with the ITO CM team.
  • Support Preliminary Bill of Materials (PBOM) review meetings for Steam Turbine and Generator products.
  • Validate standard parts selected through GBOM rules and support Configure to Order (CtO) efforts to maximize direct release percentage on requisition orders.
  • Assist manufacturing and MSD sourcing teams with concerns regarding BOM timeliness and disconnects, and conduct regular BOM integrity monitoring and reporting.
  • Execute CM's role and responsibilities in Change Management processes.
  • Collaborate with other functions towards continuous improvement and Lean activities.
  • Ensure CM activities adhere to GE Gas Power procedures, processes, and contractual requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Computer Science
  • 2+ years of experience in process use and development related to product definition development, Bill of Material management, configuration management concepts, program/project scheduling, and field installation.
  • Access to U.S. export-controlled information is required. Final offers are contingent on the ability to obtain authorization from the U.S. Government.
