About the Role

Completes medically prescribed Occupational Therapy assessment, plans and implements treatment program, and reasseses patient status as indicated to restore function and/or maximize ability following disease or disability. AHA-BLS certification is required; however, certification is not a qualifying factor to obtain the position.

Responsibilities

• Completes medically prescribed Occupational Therapy assessment, plans and implements treatment program, and reasseses patient status as indicated to restore function and/or maximize ability following disease or disability.
• Complete accurate and legible documentation as per established guidelines.
• Qualitatively evaluate and treat all age groups and diagnostic categories in both inpatient, outpatient, Skilled Nursing Facility, and Sub-Acute Rehab settings.
• Communicate effectively with patients and caretakers regarding anticipated Occupational Therapy treatment plan, level of expected patient participation, and expected outcome.
• Communicate effectively with the public and the Medical/CVPH staff as a member of the Rehabilitation team.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Valid and current New York State Occupational Therapy license and registration with the National Board Certification for Occupational Therapy.
• AHA-BLS is required within 6 months of hire or a current non-AHA-BLS card will be honored up to the date of renewal.
• As applicable, the individual has training/competency in attending to the special needs and/or behaviors appropriate to the age of the patients for which care is being provided.
• Current bargaining unit employees have priority consideration if they apply within seven (7) days of the posting date.
