About the Role
Oneida Innovations Group (OIG) is seeking an experienced HRIS & People Operations Manager to lead the administration, optimization, and continuous improvement of our Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), payroll operations, benefits administration, and People Operations functions. This role serves as the primary owner and subject matter expert for ADP Workforce Now, ensuring data integrity, payroll accuracy, regulatory compliance, workforce reporting, and effective employee lifecycle management. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with deep HRIS and payroll expertise, a passion for process improvement, and the ability to translate operational data into meaningful business insights.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for ADP Workforce Now and related HR systems.
- Manage HRIS configuration, workflows, security, integrations, user access, and employee data governance.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of employee lifecycle transactions, including onboarding, transfers, promotions, leaves of absence, and separations.
- Establish and maintain HRIS procedures, controls, audits, and business continuity processes.
- Lead system enhancements, upgrades, integrations, and automation initiatives.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), documentation, and end-user training materials.
- Oversee end-to-end payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour regulations.
- Manage payroll reconciliations, corrections, tax reporting, and year-end activities, including W-2 and W-2C processing.
- Partner with Finance to ensure payroll liabilities and related accounts are accurately reconciled.
- Implement payroll controls, audits, and contingency procedures.
- Serve as the escalation point for complex payroll issues and employee inquiries.
- Oversee operational HR compliance activities, required reporting, record retention, and compliance tracking.
- Administer Workers' Compensation and unemployment claim processes, including vendor coordination and reporting.
- Partner with HR leadership and external advisors on audits, compliance reviews, and corrective action plans.
- Oversee benefits administration, including eligibility, enrollments, life events, payroll deductions, and vendor management.
- Collaborate with MetLife and other benefit providers to resolve issues and ensure data accuracy.
- Monitor evolving regulations and ensure HRIS and payroll processes remain compliant.
- Generate and oversee recurring and ad hoc HR, payroll, benefits, compliance, and workforce reports.
- Conduct regular data audits to ensure system accuracy, consistency, and integrity.
- Identify and implement opportunities to streamline and automate processes.
- Establish best practices, internal controls, and standardized operating procedures.
- Deliver workforce analytics and operational insights to HR and business leadership.
- Lead, coach, and develop People Operations, HRIS, and payroll team members.
- Establish cross-training programs and business continuity plans for critical processes.
- Manage relationships with ADP, MetLife, Workers' Compensation providers, and other HR vendors.
- Partner across People & Culture, Finance, IT, and Talent Acquisition to ensure seamless employee experience and operational effectiveness.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in HRIS, payroll, HR operations, or related disciplines.
- 3+ years of payroll management or oversight experience.
- Strong experience with ADP Workforce Now or a comparable HRIS/payroll platform.
- Working knowledge of payroll administration, wage and hour regulations, and multi-state employment practices.
- Experience administering HR compliance programs, benefits, Workers' Compensation, and required reporting.
- Experience with HRIS configuration, reporting, data audits, system implementations, and process improvement initiatives.
- Experience developing SOPs, operational controls, and scalable business processes.
- 2+ years of leadership, supervisory, or people management experience.
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage highly confidential employee and payroll information with discretion.
- Experience supporting a growing, multi-state organization.
- Experience within a technology, government contracting, or highly regulated environment.
- Advanced reporting, analytics, and process automation experience.
