About the Role
MGC Contractors, Inc. is seeking General Laborers to join our Texas division in the Austin area. This role involves working on water and wastewater general contracting projects.
Responsibilities
- Work quickly, productively, and safely to meet production goals.
- Follow direction regarding daily production schedule and activities.
- Ensure the job-site is safe prior to commencing work.
- Maintain a clean job site and secure it daily.
- Use equipment and job tools.
- Perform general laborer work as needed.
- Complete any other assigned duties.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Six (6) months to one (1) year of related experience preferred.
- Passing a pre-employment drug screen is required.
Skills
- Ability to communicate verbally with others on site, in person and over the telephone.
- Ability to read printed materials, signs and directions.
- Stamina to maintain attention despite interruptions.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, carry, handle or feel objects, supplies, tools, machinery and/or controls weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to climb stairs and/or ladders.
- Ability to balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift overhead, traverse around or otherwise position one's self around the required work and safety requirements.
- Ability to navigate and perform activities on various construction sites in a safe manner.
