About the Role

The Centre for Carbon Transition (CCT) team at JPMorganChase leads target-setting and management of the firmwide portfolio-level carbon intensity targets, green financing goal, and Energy Supply Financing Ratio (ESFR). This role supports the broader mandate of CCT in advising the firm on the energy transition outlook while building decarbonisation/transition expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of the Firm’s strategy to align its financing portfolio with net zero emissions by 2050.
  • Evaluate clients’ transition strategies and credibility of decarbonization plans.
  • Support and own elements of quantitative client and portfolio carbon analytics, assessing carbon performance at both the individual transaction level and across industry portfolios.
  • Translate quantitative and qualitative outputs into executive-ready recommendations for stakeholder engagement and senior forums.
  • Support external engagement and events.

Requirements

  • University degree in a relevant field (e.g., finance, energy / environmental economics, sustainability).
  • 1-3 years of experience in a relevant energy / decarbonization / sustainability / climate role.
  • Ability to convey information clearly, accurately and succinctly (both written and verbally).
  • Excellent analytical skills (including proficiency in Excel, working with large datasets and third-party data sources) and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and self-starter mindset.
  • Demonstrated interest in energy, climate and decarbonization themes.
  • Understanding of banking products.
  • Understanding of carbon accounting concepts and practical application to corporates (scopes, boundaries, data limitations, and interpretability).
  • Understanding of banking products (preferred for Associate consideration).
