About the Role

Lead the successful execution of complex engineering projects and programs for public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities. This role is responsible for overall project delivery, financial performance, and client satisfaction across a portfolio of projects. Serve as a key client interface, provide leadership to multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior project managers, and support business development efforts.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage a portfolio of engineering projects for public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities
Provide overall leadership for project execution including scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety performance
Oversee financial performance and profitability of assigned projects and develop recovery plans when needed
Serve as primary client relationship manager, maintaining strong client partnerships and identifying opportunities for additional services
Lead coordination between engineering leads, project teams, and functional managers
Develop and review project financial reports, schedules, and resource forecasts
Report project performance, financial status, schedule, and risks to clients and internal leadership
Provide mentorship and guidance to project managers, engineers, and project staff
Lead multidisciplinary teams and promote collaboration across engineering, project controls, accounting, and support functions
Support the development and improvement of project management processes, tools, and best practices
Assist with and lead proposal development, including scope definition, scheduling, and cost estimates
Collaborate with Marketing and Business Development teams to expand existing client relationships and identify new opportunities
Prepare and present technical and project performance reports to clients and internal leadership
Work with Accounting and Project Controls on client invoicing, project financial tracking, and accounts receivable
Perform other duties as needed

Requirements

10+ years of experience managing engineering or infrastructure projects
Demonstrated experience managing large or complex projects for electric utilities
PE registration or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Previous project management experience with a utility or engineering consulting firm strongly preferred
Experience in transmission line design and management preferred
Strong leadership, communication, and client relationship management skills
Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and multidisciplinary teams
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to mentor and develop junior staff
Some travel is required
