About the Role

Lead the successful execution of complex engineering projects and programs for public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities. This role is responsible for overall project delivery, financial performance, and client satisfaction across a portfolio of projects. Serve as a key client interface, provide leadership to multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior project managers, and support business development efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a portfolio of engineering projects for public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities
  • Provide overall leadership for project execution including scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety performance
  • Oversee financial performance and profitability of assigned projects and develop recovery plans when needed
  • Serve as primary client relationship manager, maintaining strong client partnerships and identifying opportunities for additional services
  • Lead coordination between engineering leads, project teams, and functional managers
  • Develop and review project financial reports, schedules, and resource forecasts
  • Report project performance, financial status, schedule, and risks to clients and internal leadership
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to project managers, engineers, and project staff
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams and promote collaboration across engineering, project controls, accounting, and support functions
  • Support the development and improvement of project management processes, tools, and best practices
  • Assist with and lead proposal development, including scope definition, scheduling, and cost estimates
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Business Development teams to expand existing client relationships and identify new opportunities
  • Prepare and present technical and project performance reports to clients and internal leadership
  • Work with Accounting and Project Controls on client invoicing, project financial tracking, and accounts receivable
  • Perform other duties as needed

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience managing engineering or infrastructure projects
  • Demonstrated experience managing large or complex projects for electric utilities
  • PE registration or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Previous project management experience with a utility or engineering consulting firm strongly preferred
  • Experience in transmission line design and management preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and client relationship management skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to mentor and develop junior staff
  • Some travel is required
