About the Role
As a Dietary Aide at Long Term Care, you'll create meaningful relationships with residents and deliver compassionate care through your responsibilities in dietary services. Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of meals and serving meals
- Follow residents' diets and food preferences
- Take menu orders from residents
- Set and clear tables in the dining rooms and ensure they are sanitized
- Ensure proper food handling techniques are followed
Requirements
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
- Must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and/or Criminal Record Check applicable to the appropriate province
Skills
- Safe Food Handler’s Certificate or willingness to obtain
- Detailed-oriented
- Strong customer service skills
- Effective communication with residents and staff
- Experience in food service from institutional, healthcare, restaurant, or hospitality is a plus
- Food Service Worker Certificate is a plus
