About the Role

The Relationship Manager is responsible for managing and growing profitable lending relationships for the Bank, cultivating business prospects and opportunities that result in new loan and deposit relationships. This demanding position requires a positive attitude, a desire to achieve goals, a passion for banking, and dedication to success.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to identify, prioritize, and acquire high-value relationships through referrals and cold calling.
  • Interview potential clients, determine loan requirements, and sell appropriate Bank products and services.
  • Manage credit portfolio and maintain close customer contact.
  • Participate in bank-wide initiatives such as blitz calling days, joint client meetings, and community events.
  • Monitor credit quality and data integrity.
  • Manage a portfolio of loans and lines of credit, including analyzing borrowing base certificates, inspecting collateral, reviewing advance requests, monitoring delinquency, and administering loan covenants.
  • Actively participate in the loan application process, including obtaining application packages, preparing loan proposals, and following up on required documents.
  • Maintain active communication with the underwriting department, serving as the customer's point of contact to ensure needs are met and loans close efficiently.
  • Monitor pending loan applications for timely responses from both the Bank and the client.
  • Manage and report on assigned loan portfolios, including discussing clients with Senior Management and assisting the Collections Department.
  • Adhere to the Bank’s credit policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support and promote the Bank's vision, mission, core values, organizational structure, and policies.
  • Comply with federal and state regulations and all established Bank policies and procedures.

  • Must have excellent analysis, observation, and decision-making skills.
  • Highly focused, able to rapidly determine key priorities, communicate them clearly, and ensure resources are properly aligned.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills necessary for maintaining effective relationships with Board members, officers, employees, and the business and civic community.
  • Individual should be able to work under high pressure and stressful situations while remaining composed.
  • Provides strong, compassionate, and visible leadership that fosters positive attitudes and trust among employees, customers, and prospects.
  • Must be able to be physically present in the Bank to perform job duties.
