About the Role
Join Aon’s National Natural Resources Practice as an Account Executive, becoming a trusted risk advisor in a specialized, technically rich industry. You will manage complex commercial insurance programs for major clients and help them make better decisions every day.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the central point of contact for key natural resources clients, directing all aspects of account management, renewals, and service delivery.
- Direct and lead assigned natural resources accounts, collaborating with Associate Account Executives to meet client needs.
- Coordinate all account activity, including client requests, policy changes, additions, deletions, renewals, and cancellations.
- Initiate and lead the 120-day renewal process with the Broking Team, preparing and presenting renewal reports and reviewing final policy documentation.
- Review contracts, policies, endorsements, cover notes, and certificates of insurance for accuracy and alignment with client requirements and underwriting considerations.
- Support clients on significant claims issues, liaising with internal claims resources as needed.
- Develop and lead senior-level client relationships, identifying cross-sell opportunities and supporting new business development within the natural resources segment.
Requirements
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
- This role is not eligible for sponsorship, and we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa or work permit.
- 8+ years of commercial insurance experience, ideally including large and complex natural resources accounts, with a strong preference for power and renewables experience (mining and energy experience also valued).
- Strong client relationship skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders as a trusted advisor.
- Proven experience leading account lifecycles, including renewals, documentation review, and coordination with broking and claims teams.
- Ability to analyze contracts and insurance requirements, anticipate underwriting issues, and provide clear guidance to clients and colleagues.
