About the Role
The Asset Management Associate (AMA) role is the primary point of operational execution and success for the Lenox Asset Management department. AMAs liaise with internal and external parties, requiring strong organization and communication skills to support new and existing business across managed portfolios, fixed annuities, and variable annuities.
Responsibilities
- Assist new clients through the onboarding process, understanding required paperwork for each investment and account type.
- Communicate with clients, Relationship Managers, Asset Managers, Vendors, and the broker-dealer during new account onboarding.
- Act as a liaison between Asset Managers and other business partners to ensure high-quality client service.
- Provide client service including calls, transaction processing, accurate CRM recording, inquiry response/research, and account maintenance.
- Identify complex investment account, contribution, and distribution requests and escalate to leadership when necessary.
- Manage additional deposits and withdrawals from existing accounts, including submission, tracking, and communication.
- Expedite wire transfers, distributions, withdrawals, ACATs, portfolio rebalancing, and redemption requests.
- Generate client proposals under the direction of Relationship Managers and/or Asset Managers.
- Develop an understanding of investment programs and assist in updating internal marketing platforms with timely materials.
- Support the VP, Operations Manager in completing special projects.
- Develop vendor relationships to facilitate client account maintenance.
- Serve as an operational resource to Relationship Managers conducting Asset Management business independently.
- Become proficient in broker-dealer technology for new account onboarding and reporting, including Mosaic, A360, ProGen, WealthScape, Envestnet, Tamarac, RightBridge, Broadridge, and DST Vision.
- Become proficient in custodian technology including Charles Schwab, Fidelity, National Financial Services (NFS), and others.
Requirements
- Solid understanding of equity and bond markets, trusts, and laws pertaining to security transfers.
- Basic MOSAIC skills (tasking, arrays) and advanced skills (Net Flow Reporting, Managing the event process).
- Ability to maintain positive working relationships with clients and Relationship Managers.
- Ability to learn systems and job procedures quickly and organize workload efficiently.
- Ability to anticipate problems, develop contingency plans, and identify central issues in complex situations.
- Proactive and a self-starter with the ability to think on their feet.
- Views problems as opportunities for process improvement.
- Strong sense of urgency in solving problems and delivering a positive service experience.
