About the Role

The Overhead Utility Distribution Construction Manager in Austin, Texas provides management and direction of utility construction activities, including project management, resource allocation, equipment management, and utility construction. This role supports the Construction team and collaborates with field personnel, senior operations management, and customers.

Responsibilities

• Manage all projects to completion on-time and within budget.
• Schedule crews, delegate work, review project timelines, and supervise performance and quality.
• Participate in the hiring process and manage employment-related paperwork.
• Promote a safe work environment and hold crews accountable for safe practices.
• Determine job costs, labor, and material needs, ensuring on-time deliveries.
• Prepare and interpret drawings, graphs, maps, blueprints, bid documents, contracts, proposals, and specifications.
• Identify and resolve blueprint issues before and during construction.
• Identify and supervise subcontractors, inspecting their work and managing billing.
• Take responsibility for all personnel, vehicles, and equipment under their control.
• Participate in meetings with senior operations management, peers, and customers.
• Participate in estimating and bidding projects, contract negotiations, and change order preparation.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Construction Management or Engineering.
• 5 years of relevant Overhead Distribution Utility Construction Manager experience.
• Experience within Overhead Distribution and Underground Electric Utility work.
• 2 years in a Supervisory role.
• OSHA 30 Certification.
