About the Role
Gallagher Bassett Canada is seeking a Senior BI Claims Adjuster to investigate, evaluate, disposition, and settle claims. This role involves handling general liability, product liability, and auto bodily injury claims, requiring strong analytical and negotiation skills to resolve complex cases within established authority.
Responsibilities
- Investigate, evaluate, disposition, and settle claims.
- Handle general liability claims.
- Handle product liability claims.
- Handle TP Auto BI (Tort) Auto claims.
- Handle TP auto claims.
- Negotiate with solicitors and directly with parties to resolve claims within authority granted.
- Identify potential litigation and non-litigation strategies and determine the best course of action.
- Participate in mediations, pre-trial conferences, and other procedures to resolve claims.
- Analyze relevant policies to determine coverage and assess how it applies to the claim.
- Handle claims consistent with client and corporate policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Adhere to statutory, regulatory, and ethics requirements.
Requirements
- High school diploma and 5 years of related claims experience.
- CIP completion, or C11, C12, C14, C110 minimum and in progress with minimum courses for licensing.
- Appropriately licensed and/or certified in all provinces in which claims are being handled or able to obtain the licenses/certification per local requirements.
- Extensive knowledge of accepted industry standards and practices.
- Computer experience with related claims and business software.
- Ability to think critically, solve problems, plan and organize activities.
- Ability to serve clients.

- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to embrace new challenges.
- Analytical skill necessary to make decisions and resolve complex issues inherent in handling losses.
