About the Role

We are seeking a Principal IT Lab Integration Developer (Senior or Principal) to join our IOPS IT team, designing, developing, validating, and supporting integrations between laboratory systems, analytical instruments, enterprise platforms, and data systems within our regulated pharmaceutical environment. In this role, you will combine application development, system integration, data management, and regulatory compliance expertise — partnering with QC, QA, R&D, Manufacturing, and external vendors to enable end-to-end digital lab workflows. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a fast-growing, science-driven organization making a meaningful difference to patients worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design and implementation of the QC Lab Orchestration Layer, enabling workflow coordination across laboratory instruments and middleware.
  • Define integration patterns including APIs, event-driven architectures, message queues, and file-based approaches.
  • Design and develop integrations between instruments and the Orchestration Layer.
  • Build and support API-based, file-based, and message-based integrations using REST, SOAP, SFTP, JSON, and XML.
  • Translate QC business processes into orchestrated digital workflows.
  • Develop instrument data capture and automation workflows.
  • Configure and support middleware and integration platforms.
  • Ensure all integrations comply with GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, and ALCOA+ data integrity requirements.
  • Participate in Computer System Validation activities including IQ/OQ/PQ documentation.
  • Perform impact assessments and change control documentation.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot integration issues in production environments.
  • Provide Level 2/3 support for QC Lab Systems.
  • Partner with QC Analysts, QA, IT infrastructure, and external vendors.
  • Collaborate with QC, R&D, Manufacturing, and QA teams to align integration solutions with business needs.
  • Support audits and regulatory inspections.
  • Ensure scalability, resilience, and performance across all lab integrations.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in Information Technology, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Senior: 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Principal: 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • May consider equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience connecting laboratory instruments such as liquid handlers and analyzers to central platforms including LIMS or ELNs to automate data capture and reduce manual transcription.
  • Experience with GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, and CSV/CSA practices in a regulated pharmaceutical or biotech environment preferred.

Skills

  • Knowledge of RESTful APIs, web services, and middleware tools used to bridge communication between orchestration engines and disparate lab hardware.
  • Proficiency in Python or VBA for customizing automated workflows and data parsing.
  • Strong understanding of data formats, naming conventions, and data governance to ensure consistent and accurate data delivery across systems.
