About the Role
Lead UK student recruitment by managing agent partnerships, developing new business, improving conversion and compliance, and supporting teams to achieve growth targets.
Responsibilities
- Ensure daily reports are up to date and sent to all partners/agents.
- Manage 12-18 agent/accounts, ensuring they meet expectations and provide quality learners.
- Identify potential new agents/accounts/businesses to develop UK student recruitment.
- Manage junior business development executives and support teams to achieve student recruitment objectives.
- Provide a smooth journey for agents/accounts and students, ensuring an efficient application process to improve conversion.
- Gain feedback to continuously improve processes.
- Have a detailed understanding of all systems used by agents and students to provide clear advice.
- Meet KPIs set by the Head of Business Development, including delivery of targets, onboarding new business, improving conversion rates, and increasing brand awareness.
- Proactively support all colleagues in pursuit of the University’s central objectives and values.
- Gather intelligence and data to propose new initiatives for UK opportunities, including data interpretation and articulation of key messages.
- Protect the University’s reputation by ensuring agents/accounts adhere to University processes and act with integrity.
- Adhere to the University’s admissions processes and regulations, ensuring a clear audit trail for training and compliance.
- Ensure all students recruited through agents meet required progression/AU benchmarks through continuous auditing.
- Identify gaps or shortfalls in recruitment strategies and determine solutions.
- Analyze data/statistics, interpret and report patterns and trends, and highlight issues for informed decision-making.
- Provide daily reports on student activity to agents and partners.
- Provide reports and updates to key commercial leads.
- Analyze agent performance from recruitment and student engagement perspectives.
- Provide advice to peers and partners to resolve standard and unforeseen issues within operational limits.
- Support and lead Business Development Executives, support teams, and other relevant departments.
- Advise and update the team on regulatory/compliance/product/process changes, providing training as needed.
- Ensure partners/agents receive the best support and service according to University standards.
- Diagnose and rectify problems with sales processes and systems.
- Provide feedback to agents/partners on student performance.
- Plan and organize own activities to meet routine operations and KPI deadlines.
- Support the development of team structures.
- Prepare plans for agent/partner training, both face-to-face and online.
- Ensure SLAs are met and partners are satisfied with the service provided.
- Participate in or coordinate student recruitment projects or development activities.
- Make recommendations about resource planning.
- Communicate and build working relationships with agents/partners to ensure satisfaction and growth.
- Attend meetings as requested by manager to support departmental activities and report on discussions.
- Liaise with key stakeholders, such as admissions, quality assurance, and student support.
- Communicate regularly with the Business Development Team, providing feedback on Agent documents.
- Advise on and propose changes in procedures, planning, and systems to improve operational efficiency and service quality in student recruitment.
- Keep skills up to date and develop knowledge in student recruitment practice through learning, training, and networking.
- Continuously improve conversion rates and enrolled numbers from each partner.
- Make recommendations on improving the University’s brand and commercial attractiveness.
- Identify ways to improve current processes, especially concerning team growth and recruitment numbers.
- Cooperate with colleagues to achieve departmental objectives.
- Train and develop junior staff members, ensuring direct reports meet their duties and KPIs.
- Manage agent/partnership relationships, ensuring clarity on admissions procedures and quality requirements.
- Show sensitivity and consideration to others' needs and feelings, including dealing with distress.
- Deal with cultural differences when working with overseas staff.
- Deliver guidance and support in a calm, discreet, diplomatic, and professional manner.
- Support agents/partners and provide referral/signposting pathways for students in crisis.
- Identify and address development needs for continuing professional development.
- Communicate and share best practices.
- Proactively identify new opportunities and work with management to develop solutions.

- Occasionally travel to other locations for meetings or training.

- Liaise and engage with key stakeholders and contractors to influence opinion, delivery, and reputation.
- Influence and contribute to resource planning to meet organizational objectives, including business plans and strategy documents.
- Implement processes to manage the integrity and security of commercially sensitive and personal data.
- Attend external events in the UK and internationally, sometimes during weekends/after hours.
- Travel within the UK representing the University at education expositions, universities, schools, and colleges.
- Influence senior colleagues and external partners.
- Develop external relations and identify opportunities for communities of practice, employers, alumni, and donors.
- Build and sustain an influential network of contacts internally and externally.
- Stay informed about the University's work through committees, workshops, events, and networking.
- Create business cases with finance business partners to validate commercial opportunities.
- Contribute to operational leadership teams and decision-making.
- Provide expert professional or managerial expertise to support UK/Domestic student recruitment, including achieving targets, increasing quality, improving conversion rates, and increasing diversity.

- Extensive UK network including agents, institutions (e.g., British Council, QS, local education ministries).
- Post Grad/PhD (or candidature).
