About the Role
As a Safety Inspector at FlixTrain, you will actively shape the future of mobility. You will ensure the monitoring of operating staff in train operations according to FlixTrain GmbH guidelines, conduct inspections, and ensure consistent implementation of regulations. You will act with expertise, tact, and a clear stance at the interface between operations, employees, and authorities.
Responsibilities
- Conduct operational checks and monitoring drives, and evaluate driving data according to safety objectives.
- Manage qualification management, including maintaining the "operational file" for operating staff in train operations.
- Issue and manage travel authorizations, route and local knowledge acquisition orders, and associated supplementary certificates.
- Conduct spot checks of duty rosters and shifts to ensure compliance with driving and rest times and planning specifications according to BRW.
- Participate in accident and incident investigations, take on EVU emergency duty, and act as an inspector according to FlixTrain GmbH's inspection regulations.
- Actively contribute to the further development of the safety management system and regulations, and maintain safety-internal digital applications.
- Within ECM tasks, verify compliance with legal and ECM-internal requirements for the safe operation of vehicles.
Requirements
- Possess a train driver's license with a valid supplementary certificate and at least three years of professional experience (excluding training time).
- Have a strong command of railway operational regulations, ideally including European regulations and those of border regions.
- Meet the requirements for fitness according to TfV and possess at least a secondary school diploma.
- Demonstrate proven German language skills of at least C1 level.
- Have at least 100 hours of driving experience as a train driver per calendar year.
- Hold a valid car driver's license.
- Be willing to travel throughout Germany and work on weekends, holidays, and at night, as well as be available for on-call duty.
- Have experience in dealing with travelers and safety-relevant situations.
- Exhibit strong communication sensitivity when interacting with employees and authorities.
