About the Role
The Power Customer Engineer (Technician) – Commissioning is a critical technical role responsible for the end-to-end commissioning of Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) and Static Transfer Switch (STS) units within large-scale, mission-critical environments, including Tier 1 Data Centres.
Responsibilities
- Accurately record hours worked each day using a digital reporting tool.
- Complete commissioning/service reports within set timeframes.
- Proactively communicate project progress and site issues to management.
- Lead the full commissioning cycle for Vertiv's UPS & STS units.
- Carry out L2, L3, and L4 commissioning tasks.
- Support the Service Team with maintenance and time & material works.
- Build trusted relationships with customers through professional interactions.
- Participate in ongoing training across multiple Vertiv technologies.
- Comply with all Work, Health & Safety, Environment and Quality obligations.
- Champion a safety-first culture on all sites.
- Identify, report, and mitigate workplace hazards promptly and effectively.
Requirements
- Possess a valid Driver's Licence.
- Undertake overnight or extended travel as project demands require.
- Safely navigate and work within confined, tight, and restricted spaces.
- Work on and around Energised Electrical equipment, adhering strictly to safety protocols.
- Undertake manual handling tasks, including lifting, carrying, and relocating equipment and components in accordance with WHS guidelines.
- Proven track record within the Critical Power Industry as a commissioning/service technician.
- Proven ability to work effectively under timeline constraints on large scale sites.
- Solid understanding of Controls & Networking.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication, inter-personal and problem-solving skills.
- Learning agility.
- Interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to multitask and priorities workloads.
