About the Role
Join the Data & Analytics team to build and scale key technical foundations for a reliable, usable, and accessible data platform for clinical, research, and business teams. Increase delivery speed and trust in insights by improving automation, quality, and documentation, and ensuring consistent metric definition and reuse.
Responsibilities
- Build backend features for the Research Data Platform using Python/FastAPI and PostgreSQL.
- Build and maintain dbt models, including business logic, tests, and documentation, to ensure a robust data model for self-service analytics.
- Collaborate closely with internal users (Research/Clinical/Business) for rapid iteration and value delivery.
- Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and continuous improvement of engineering standards.
- Support the team in delivering BI solutions such as dashboards and business analysis.
- Contribute to metrics governance via a semantic layer (e.g., Cube.js) to align KPIs.
- Transform recurring manual work (reporting, quality triage, source onboarding) into reliable tooling, leveraging AI responsibly.
Requirements
- Ship production-grade Python code, including tests, code quality checks, reviews, and CI.
- Build and maintain backend APIs using FastAPI, Flask, Django, or equivalent.
- Perform data modeling with advanced SQL to deliver production dbt models.
- Utilize AI tools as a multiplier while maintaining strong engineering ownership.
- Deploy and operate built solutions, including containers, environments, and CI/CD.
- Implement data tests and alerting, and troubleshoot data quality issues.
- Possess a structured, detail-oriented approach with a bias for automation.
- Demonstrate strong collaboration skills with technical and non-technical partners.
- Exhibit pragmatism, prioritizing impact and maintainability.
- Show ownership, autonomy, and accountability.
- Maintain curiosity and a continuous-learning mindset.
- Communicate clearly and maintain a solution-oriented attitude.
- Have experience working in a maintained codebase using Git workflow, PRs, and CI.
- Have experience shipping production dbt models with documentation and tests.

- Have experience collaborating with product/engineering teams on data topics.
- Have operated in a context with high standards for security, compliance, and sensitive data.
