About the Role

Amazon is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to support its logistics team. This role involves leading teams, driving process improvements, and ensuring operational excellence within a fulfillment center. The position requires a leader who can motivate teams, set ambitious goals, and implement changes that could impact the entire Amazon network.

Responsibilities

Management, control, organization, and leadership of operational outbound or inbound areas at your location.
Implementation of health and safety standards and promotion of a health and safety culture.
Acquiring expertise in specific overarching processes and activities within fulfillment centers, such as knowledge of 5S audits.
Timely data collection through hourly updates of operational key figures in your inventory control and system environment.
Adherence to productivity targets, reduction of cost per unit, error prevention, and ensuring an outstanding customer shopping experience.
Close collaboration with other departments (HR, Finance, Facilities, Security, IT) regarding staffing and scheduling, as well as performance levels.
Implementation of process changes and participation in cross-functional Six Sigma initiatives.

Requirements

A degree qualification from a recognized institution, at least at Bachelor's level.
Experience in leading large, diverse teams.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in fluent German and English.
Technical competence in at least two areas of the manufacturing or logistics chain, with a proven track record in a similar dynamic logistics, distribution, or manufacturing environment.
Detail-oriented approach, application of root cause analysis, and ability to evaluate generated data.
Viewing changes as development opportunities and willingness to relocate if necessary.
Understanding that shift and weekend work are unavoidable.
