  • Deliver the Integrated Assurance Plan by agreeing review scopes, executing reviews, and producing high-quality final reports.
  • Lead and contribute to risk discussions with stakeholders, offering constructive challenge and practical recommendations.
  • Define and monitor risk appetite, tolerances, and key risk indicators (KRIs), reporting outcomes to management committees and the Board.
  • Investigate and track risk events through to resolution.
  • Provide insightful analysis on risks and controls, ensuring issues are identified, escalated, and resolved.
  • Conduct deep-dive reviews into critical topics such as business planning, reinsurance purchasing, and reserving.
  • Support the Validation pillar in oversight of the Internal Model.

  • Represent Risk in working groups and change programmes, providing review and challenge throughout.
  • Support due diligence on strategic transactions (e.g. RITC, M&A).
  • Monitor emerging risks and market trends, assessing their impact on MS Amlin and the wider Lloyd’s market.
  • Prepare clear, concise, and impactful risk reporting for management and Board committees.
  • Support the development and performance management of junior team members.
  • Champion a culture of risk awareness, acting as a role model within the Risk function.
  • Contribute to the Risk & Compliance Knowledge Management pillar, raising awareness of risk management across the organisation.
  • Lead on 2nd line functional objectives, collaborating across pillars to deliver shared goals (e.g. away days, team meetings, inter-departmental projects).
  • Periodically support wider initiatives and delivery across the 2nd line function that sit outside of primary responsibilities.
