About the Role
We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our AI Libraries team, responsible for building and maintaining the platforms, libraries, and tools that enable efficient ML model training, evaluation, and scaling. This hands-on role focuses on creating stable, scalable, and modular systems to support large-scale ML development, working closely with ML teams to understand needs and improve the training infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable Python libraries and tools for ML engineers and researchers.
- Develop robust abstractions for data loading, distributed training, inference, checkpointing, and model evaluation.
- Support large-scale training across GPU clusters and cloud infrastructure.
- Collaborate with ML teams to create reliable, well-documented, observable, and easy-to-adopt tools.
- Enhance engineering quality in ML systems through strong software architecture, testing, monitoring, and maintainability.
- Optimize data and training pipelines for multi-modal data sources.
- Contribute to the evolution of Wayve’s AI platform.
Requirements
- Strong Python programming experience.
- Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining software systems from concept to delivery.
- Strong software architecture and system design skills.
- Experience building tools, platforms, or libraries for technical users.
- Strong understanding of testing, observability, maintainability, and engineering best practices.
- Experience with cloud environments, ideally Azure.
- Experience with concurrent, parallel, or distributed computing.
- Familiarity with ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or PyTorch Lightning.
- Ability to work closely with technical stakeholders to refine requirements and deliver practical, scalable solutions.
