About the Role
This role is responsible for executing money laundering, economic sanctions, and fraud compliance and operational risk practices. You will work directly with compliance officers for Front-Line Units (FLUs) and Control Functions (CFs) to meet compliance, policy, and operational/fraud risk management requirements.
Responsibilities
- Manage and interpret sanctions requirements for Financial Crimes Global Standard.
- Assess and interpret the impact of regulatory changes from the United States, United Nations, European Union, and United Kingdom sanctions and anti-boycott regulations.
- Oversee sanctions-related audit issues, provide an overview of all sanctions-related issues, and perform thematic reviews.
- Assess regional operational and risk metrics for input into management-level reporting.
- Investigate, disclose, and respond to potential violations of sanctions.
- Assist Money Laundering Reporting Officers with local regulatory inquiries requiring subject matter expert sanctions input.
- Contribute to sanctions risk assessments.
- Consult with FLU risk managers to develop sanctions-specific content in periodic risk assessments.
- Monitor sanctions penalty assessments for potential vulnerabilities.
- Benchmark with peer banks on key industry trends.
Requirements
- Demonstrable sanctions-related experience, especially pertaining to UK and/or EU sanctions.
- Knowledge of financial products, including lending, financing, payments, securities trading, and derivative products.
- Experience working at an Investment Bank or Corporate Banking.
