About the Role
We are seeking a Cargo Route Optimisation Manager to join our Revenue Optimisation team. You will be accountable for implementing revenue management and pricing strategies through the constant evaluation and analysis of assigned routes, maximising contribution and optimising cargo capacity. You will turn data and market insight into clear commercial recommendations and actions, working closely with colleagues across Cargo and the wider business. As an authority in your field, you will also share revenue management principles and practices to support consistent adoption and application globally.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the accurate forecast of cargo capacity available for commercial sale.
- Deliver strategic, insightful and informed plans to maximise capacity, including overbooking strategies.
- Work on joint venture capacity management strategies.
- Complete rigorous evaluation of existing and potential allocations, considering displacement of existing business.
- Test demand elasticity to optimise revenue and contribution through timely bid price management.
- Provide guidance and input on tariffs, contract rates, tenders, promotions, spot pricing and other airline agreements.
- Evaluate the market at both macro and micro levels and use insight to inform short and medium-term route strategies.
- Interpret dashboards and data, using Excel to manipulate information and translate findings into a clear commercial story, recommendations and decisions.
- Build effective relationships across the business, influencing stakeholders and collaborating with Sales colleagues to deliver the optimum commercial outcome.
- Mentor and coach team members, sharing relevant knowledge, experience and skills.
- Contribute to assigned projects and initiatives, from planning and research through to successful implementation.
Requirements
- Strong commercial acumen with the confidence to make and influence decisions.
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret dashboards and manipulate data in Excel.
- Ability to translate complex data into a clear story, recommendations and actions for different audiences.
- Experience working collaboratively with stakeholders and communicating complex messages clearly.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
