About the Role

This role offers an excellent career opportunity to work for Australia's Central Bank, supporting the Payments Operations Program which uplifts the operation, IT controls, and governance of a critical payments system. You will promote the public interest by ensuring the reliable, safe, and efficient functioning of national infrastructure essential to the Australian economy.

Responsibilities

  • Define solutions architectures, high-level designs, and impact assessments for initiatives and/or systems in the Bank.
  • Take ownership of Architecture deliverables for Conceptual and Solution Architecture documents and ensure stakeholder agreement and endorsement.
  • Work with analysts to define business requirements and with subject matter experts to develop high-level designs aligned with enterprise architecture, patterns, and practices.
  • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders in scoping initiatives according to architectural objectives and principles.
  • Identify and document/call out dependencies with other projects/systems.
  • Drive the Architectural Certification process to completion for key project deliverables.

Requirements

  • Experience in producing Solution Architectures for complex solutions (including infrastructure, cloud, on-premise, and hybrid solutions).
  • Experience in Architecture design that improved controls based on COBIT/ISO 27001 framework.
  • Proven background in Software/Infrastructure automation and an understanding of the tools used.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, influence, and persuade peers and senior stakeholders.
  • Understanding of strategic and new/emerging technologies and their practical application.
  • Understanding of relevant models, notations, and tools.
  • Strong experience in resolving solution design and architecture contentions.
  • Sound experience in architectural disciplines across a range of complex projects and technologies.

  • Banking or Payment Systems (e.g., SWIFT, NPP, FSS etc.)
  • Automation toolsets (e.g., Puppet, Terraform, vRA, Chocolatey, Packer etc.)
  • CI/CD toolsets (e.g., Azure DevOps Service, Artifactory, Gitlab etc.)
  • Common infrastructure systems (e.g., Active Directory, SQL Server, Sterling, VMWare, SAN etc.)
  • Certificate lifecycle management tool (e.g., Venafi, Hashicorp Vault etc.)
