About the Role

EF Educational Tours is seeking an excellent communicator with attention to detail to join their Tour Optimization team in Tokyo. The role involves planning and allocating tour components like meals, accommodation, transport, and activities, ensuring a memorable customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the allocation process of all tour components, both pre-tour and during tours in case of disruptions.
• Manage cost and quality by balancing product/tour code requirements with available inventory/supplier commitments.
• Associate inventory to the right service/supplier and right group/customer based on customer segmentation.
• Adapt itineraries to accommodate requests or to cope with market-driven challenges.
• Work proactively, collaboratively, and have solution-oriented interaction and communication with colleagues, stakeholders, and support functions.
• Make decisions based on and actively participate in setting and delivering on KPIs objectives for the role.
• Be a specialist in the area of responsibility by knowing systems, processes, and compliance requirements.
• Continuously expand knowledge of the area of responsibility, including suppliers, logistics, tour codes, and itineraries.
• Review processes and approaches with an eye to continuously improve efficiency, quality, cost, and customer experience.
• Own up to responsibilities when facing challenges and support the emergency team with communication and problem-solving during at least three weekend shifts per year.

Requirements

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt communication style.
• Ability to prioritize, take action, and work well under pressure.
• Ability to collect and analyze information, and derive decisions based on figures and facts.
• Ability to handle competing priorities, high call/email volume with a sense of urgency and attention to detail.
• Fluent in English and Japanese.
• Regional knowledge and EF Tours experience is a bonus.
