About the Role
We are seeking a System Engineering Manager to lead our Server/Cloud Infrastructure and Network Infrastructure teams. This role involves technical ownership and people leadership, focusing on team health, business partnership, delivery, technical strategy, and AI adoption.
Responsibilities
- Own hiring, onboarding, 1:1s, feedback, and growth plans for Server/Cloud and Network squads.
- Build an inclusive environment and address performance issues.
- Translate stakeholder needs into roadmaps and prioritize work by business impact.
- Maintain visibility into squad work, resolve cross-team dependencies, and manage stakeholders.
- Track delivery and reliability metrics.
- Guide architecture and operational excellence for on-prem/cloud and network infrastructure.
- Own end-to-end Change Management within a structured framework.
- Ensure incident response and SLA-bound vulnerability remediation.
- Share learnings across teams and foster collaboration.
- Drive AI adoption for configuration generation, automation, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure safe, policy-compliant use of AI tools with sensitive data.
- Coach engineers on critical AI usage and track adoption.
- Tie AI-enabled gains to delivery metrics and cost.
Requirements
- 6+ years in infrastructure, systems, or network engineering.
- 1-3 years in a people management or technical leadership role.
- Prior experience managing or closely collaborating across both server/cloud and network functions is a plus.
- Working knowledge across on-prem and cloud server infrastructure (compute, storage, virtualization, major cloud providers).
- Working knowledge of enterprise networking (switching, routing, wireless, SD-WAN, firewalls).
- Comfortable overseeing diverse hardware and platform environments without being the hands-on expert.
- Experienced working within structured Change Control environments.
- Understanding of security fundamentals across infrastructure and network layers.
- Track record of running effective 1:1s, performance reviews, and hiring processes.
