Responsibilities

  • Develop future-proof supply concepts: Develop innovative energy and heat concepts for districts, as well as feasibility studies and transformation plans in the context of efficient heat supply systems.
  • Manage demanding projects: Be responsible for projects regarding time, budget, quality, and resources and ensure successful implementation together with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Drive decarbonization forward: Develop transformation and decarbonization strategies for heat supply systems and derive concrete measures, investment requirements, and implementation roadmaps.
  • Moderate project success: Prepare workshops and technical meetings, conduct them independently, and present results appropriately to technical and commercial decision-makers.
  • Model complex energy systems: Analyze and simulate local and district heating systems, renewable energy systems, and technical infrastructures, considering economic efficiency, sustainability, and technical design.
  • Optimize heat networks: Create and further develop hydraulic network models and evaluate the integration of renewable heat sources with regard to network operation and design.
  • Stakeholder Management: Communicate (internally and externally) and work closely with project teams, stakeholders, and customers.

Requirements

  • Completed degree in energy technology, technical building equipment, civil engineering, or a comparable engineering discipline.
  • Several years of professional experience in consulting, project management, or technical management of complex energy industry projects.
  • Ideally, experience in local and district heating, heat supply systems, infrastructure planning, or building services engineering (TGA).
  • Very good Excel skills, ideally including VBA, as well as very good PowerPoint skills and a strong affinity for numbers.
  • Experience with modeling and simulation tools such as nPro, STANET, or comparable tools.
  • Programming skills, especially in Python, are a plus.
  • Sound knowledge of heat networks, renewable heat sources, photovoltaic and storage systems, heat and cold technology, and e-mobility.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and funding frameworks in the German energy market, particularly in the areas of BEW, WPG, GModG, and municipal heat planning.
  • High customer and service orientation and the ability to communicate complex technical and economic issues understandably.
  • Very good German language skills (written and spoken).
  • Good English language skills (written and spoken).
  • Willingness for regular business trips within Germany, including the flexibility to be on-site with the customer during the week.
