About the Role
LCRA is seeking a Substation Electrician to install, maintain, and repair electric motors and equipment on Central Texas's crucial infrastructure. This role involves working on complex tasks at LCRA Service Center and substations, with opportunities for career advancement through on-the-job training and certification programs. Responsibilities
- Locate and repair failures in electrical and electronic circuits and equipment.
- Install test apparatus on all electrical equipment and implement solutions to electrical and electronic control system problems.
- Install and maintain lighting, and other types of electrical equipment at power plants, communications facilities, substations, pump houses, dams and other locations.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and general upkeep of electrical and electronic equipment and test gear.
- Read, interpret and update blueprints and drawings, consult manuals and parts lists to assist in performing work.
- Operate handheld manual tools and power tools in performing electrical tasks.
Requirements
- One or more years of experience in maintenance and/or construction of electrical power, transmission, distribution, substation and control equipment, and/or other types of electrical equipment, including experience reading blueprints.
- Class A Texas commercial driver's license
